14 months!

Jacob is 14 months old and it has been forever since I've last written about him!

Jacob's first word was "hot" I think. Whenever I would hold him and he's want something that was cooking he would say it. It was so cute! Jacob is walking everywhere and getting into everything! He loves to open the bathroom cabinets and get into my makeup. He also enjoys getting into the pots and pans cupboard too. It a so cute :). Jacob loves watching his big brothers and will follow them around the house if he has the chance.

Jacob has 6 teeth currently (2 of them just came in) and likes to eat cool apple slice pieces or anything he can snatch off of our plates. Jacob also likes to scream to communicate with us. He sits in the highchair and screams at the top of his lungs this high, piercing scream that makes us all want to plug our ears. We usually act fast to his needs because of this lol. He also points at whatever he wants too.

The words he's currently been saying are: hot, Mama (to both Steve and I), 'nack  (for snack), upabovethe (from "Twinkle, twinkle little star), woof, and baby.

It's been so fun watching him learning grow! He loves books, climbing on people and playing peek-a-boo!

July 2018

I can't believe how fast time has flown by! Jacob just had his first birthday, got 4 teeth and then started walking about a week or two later.  He is loving wearing his baby "Keen" sandals because they keep him balanced.  He has become quite opinionated.  Jacob likes to scream if to get everyone's attention and get what he wants, particularly food usually.  It has been so fun watching Jacob grow and learn.  He is so interested in watching and interacting with everything and everyone around him.  He just started to move his hands to "twinkle" in the song "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star".  So cute! Jacob is also big on waving goodbye and snuggling whenever we say, "nigh, night".  We are so glad to have sweet Jacob in our family!

Jacob's Baby Blessing

Heavenly Father, by the authority of the Melchizedek Priesthood and in the name of Jesus Christ, we hold this baby in our arms and name him Jacob Ryan Humpherys.  Jacob we bless you that you might know of the love that our Father in heaven has for you and how much He loves the little children and pray that you know how much you are loved by your mom and dad and by your brothers and how excited they are and we are to have you in our home and the light and joy you have brought to our home already.  We bless you that as you grow that you may continue to grow and learn and develop and bless you to keep and recognize the promptings of the holy spirit as you grow and that you can learn to follow  it and you can learn and keep the commandments.  I bless you with a love of learning and a love of the scriptures and reading them and using them to give you guidance throughout your life.  I pray that you can come to know your Savior and the gifts of repentance and forgiveness, mercy, and love that he gives to all who come unto him and follow Him. We bless you in all other pursuits and aspects of your life that you can have the courage to go after them and to accomplish much and always have gratitude in your heart for the gospel and for your family and bless you to be a good example and friend to your brothers as you grow.  We bless you in these things and all other blessings that the Lord has in store for you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen

8 months

Somehow the last couple of months flew by! Jacob just started a week or so ago.  He is still pretty slow but he is enjoying getting around.  He also loves eating solids now (fruits are his favorite).  He loves his big brothers and being held (who doesn't like to be safe from their constant snuggles?).  Jacob is such a pleasure of have in our family.  We feel so lucky to have such a sweet curious little guy!

5 months!

It has been way too long since I last posted!

Jacob is 5 months now and such a joy! He has not only figured out how to roll over from tummy to back and  back to tummy, but he can keep rolling over for up to 8 ft. So we have to keep a better eye on him these days. Jacob takes about 3 naps each day still.  He loves when his brothers talk to him. He has been teething and he almost has his 2 lower teeth! We just love how sweet he is. Jacob has been very curious and gets easily distracted when eating because he wants to check out everything going on around him :).

Jacob 5 weeks 5 days

I can't believe how big Jacob is right now.  He had just about out grown newborn size diapers.  He has been wanting to smile we think. W area so glad he's part of our family!

Jacob is 19 days old!

Jake is officially 19 days old... where did the time go! As of last Tuesday (when he was 2 weeks old), he weighed in at 8lbs. 8oz.  He gained over a pound since we left the hospital (he was 7lbs. 6oz. then).  Jake has been nursing a lot and looks around in awe/wonder when he is not eating or sleeping.  He has 2 loving brothers who like to sometimes snuggle him a bit much :).  In the words of Joshua, "I love baby Jacob so much!".  Andrew also thinks that he is "such a cute little guy".  Jacob is still wearing newborn sized clothes but has just started wearing size 1 diapers.  It's going by way too fast but we are excited to learn more about this sweet baby and see what his fun personality will be like!
